Dark Yellow Vase, Gunnar Nylund, Rörstrand

A lovely dark yellow vase designed by Gunnar Nylund at Rörstrand, the vase is 27.5 cm (11″) high. It´s in excellent condition except from some minor scratches and marks in the glaze, it is marked as 2nd quality.
Gunnar Nylund was born in Paris 1904 with parents who worked as sculptors and designer so he really soon started hos own career as designer for the Danish brand Bing & Grondahl where he worked until 1928. After that he together with Nathalie Krebs established the ceramics workshop Saxbo in Denmark. In 1931, Gunnar Nylund was then asked to start working for Rörstrand in Lidköping, Sweden. He worked there until 1955, most of the time as artistic director. After Gunnar Nylund Carl-Harry Stålhane became the artistic director for Rörstrand. Gunnar Nylund freelanced for Rörstrand for many years after 1955.
