Really Rare Coffee pot – Berså – Stig Lindberg Gustavsberg – Green Leafs
A really rare coffee pot of model Berså designed by Stig Lindberg at Gustavsberg from the 1950s, it is 14 cm (5.6″) high, 26 cm (10.4″) long and 13 cm (5,2″) in diameter. It is in very good condition except from that the decor on one place of the pot has some discoloration from the production, see the last photo. It is not machine washed, it is only bleached in a specific place on the jug and this is from the production.
Stig Lindberg designed Berså in 1961 as a tribute to the Swedish early summers many lovely green leafs. Berså in Swedish means Arbor. The model of the porcelain is Bohus which shapes you can see with many different patterns where Berså is one of them. It has become on of the most well know tableware ever produced in Sweden. It can almost be described as a national icon for Sweden. Since Berså was a every day porcelain most of the pieces today shows heavy wear of use, but this one is in very good condition except from some minor marks and scratches. Gustavsberg started to produce Berså again in 2005 but this one is the original one from the midcentury.
