A vase with a lovely black glaze designed by Gunnar Nylund at Rörstrand, the vase is 9 cm (3.6″) high and 6 cm (2.4″) in diameter. It is in mint condition and marked as 1st quality.
Gunnar Nylund is born in Paris but moved to Denmark and started to work at Bing & Gröndahl porcelain factory in Denmark and after that he started Saxbo ceramics in Denmark and worked there for many years. After that he became the artistic leader at Rörstrand in Sweden and worked there between 1931-1955. Gunnar Nylund is represented at a several Swedish and international museums. He is one of the most well know ceramicists in Scandinavia during the 20th century.
