BROWN BOWL – GUNNAR NYLUND – RÖRSTRAND

A brown bowl designed by Gunnar Nylund at Rörstrand, the bowl is 9 cm (3,6″) in diameter and it is 5,5 cm (2,2″) high. It is in excellent condition except from a small crack on the base why it is marked as 2nd quality.

Gunnar Nylund was born in Paris in 1904 and both his parents were artists. He grow up and started his career at Bing & Gröndahl in Denmark, after that he started the ceramic studio Saxbo in Denmark that have produced some really great and beloved ceramics. In 1931 he moved to Sweden and started to work at Rörstrand where he during many years was the artistic director before Carl-Harry Stålhane took over in 1955.
